Annual Appeal - Message from the Board of Trustees
Autumnal greetings from the Friends of Pruyn House! We are approaching another busy and productive year of fulfilling our mission to restore, conserve, and preserve the Pruyn House Complex.Your support of our Annual Appeal allows us to plan for the year ahead as well as to continue the restoration project of the Pruyn House exterior.
We are fortunate to have an active Buildings and Grounds Committee as well as Town of Colonie officials who assist us.This year we completed several projects which included.
- Exterior painting of the garage and eaves, and the replacement of the old fence near the restrooms, thanks to materials and labor donated by the Latham Lowe’s Heroes.
- New roofs on the potting shed, garage, and smokehouse.
- Replacement of rotting wood on various outbuildings.
- Construction of new schoolhouse steps.
Our mission next year is to continue to work on the restoration of the Pruyn House façade. We are working with a local architecture firm and await word from the state to see if our CFA grant submitted in July was successful. We are so fortunate that the Town has also pledged funds for this project which could span several years. We do not know what obstacles we may encounter as we undertake this extensive preservation project. Therefore, we respectfully request you to consider making a gift to our 2017 Annual Appeal.A donation of any size is genuinely appreciated and allows us to continue our mission of serving as the historical, educational and cultural center of the Town.We strive to make your experience here a memorable one and appreciate your continued commitment to the Pruyn House Complex.
Donations are fully tax-deductible and your gift will be acknowledged on our website and in our newsletter. You may also use PayPal to make an online donation.Simply visit our website at www.pruynhouse.org or mail in your donation with the form provided .We thank you again for your consideration and support throughout the year.
